The next 8 October at 19:00h, OXO Museo Madrid is hosting the presentation of the essay The hero of a thousand games, of Adrián Alonso Enguita y Avelino Alonso Rodríguez.
An exciting journey into the heart of the play as a universal experience, from the ancestral to the contemporary video game. The authors reflect on how the act of playing has been with us since before homo sapiens and how, nowadays, it is covered with algorithms, screens and technology without losing its original essence.
This essay discusses the everyday and the extraordinary, chance and necessity, rules and anarchy. A book written in two voices that unravels clues, interrogates the algorithm and reveals the figure of the hero who persists through a thousand games.
The presentation will also be a space for meeting and dialogue, where the authors will share with the public the ideas and debates that run through these pages.
