MAIN MISSION AIDI | DEATH

Thursday05MarchMAIN MISSION AIDI | DEATH

Event information

OXO Museum Madrid, in partnership with the community AIDI, presents the second edition of this series of meetings that connects video games with major topics of general interest. On this occasion, the focus will be on the DEATH, one of the most recurrent concepts in the history of videogames, present in both its mechanics and its narratives since the origins of the medium.

This meeting proposes to reflect on how and why we continue to die in video games. Does this mechanic make sense today? Which penalty systems have been more ingenious or meaningful? When does death stop being a punishment and become a narrative tool?

The conversation will be based on video games such as Dark Souls, Hades, Death Stranding, Celeste or The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and will be built on the contributions of the public in an open, participatory and accessible space, designed to share ideas beyond the level of experience as a player.
